Cactus Wings Live in So Cal, February 2003

Made a weekend trip to So Cal over the weekend to attend the enthusiast's show
at LAX. On the way over, I made a stop at San Bernandino to see what's
current...

SBD 31Jan-2003

N731AA B722 ex American
N869AA B722 ex American
N875AA B722 ex American
N ?? B722 ex Delta - fslg only, sitting on a low-loader

One, possibly two more ex-AA 727s have arrived since Friday. They are all
parked in a row easily visible and photographable from an access road leading
south from the main "terminal". The ex-Southern 747 is parked near the
northerly large hangar, but is photographable at a front 1/4 angle, again from
the same access road.

After San Bernandino, we fought the I-10 traffic and eventually made it LAX in
one piece. Since everyone in the vehicle is a photographer, we skipped the
central terminal area and went straight to the Proud Bird parking lot. Of
course, while stuck in traffic on I-10, Cathay's B-HOX "Hong Kong Millenium"
special c/s landed before we could get set up for photography.

Not everything was written down, primarily what was photographed...

We used a combination of the Proud Bird parking lot to photograph south
complex arrivals (north complex arrivals easily read off) ... and then moved
to Parking Lot C for the north complex arrivals. We were visited by the
Airport Police inquiring what we were doing, after a nice chat they moved on.

The next day was spent primarily at the So Cal Aviation Expo, but in the
evening we did a run around the airport. Noted were...

Missed reading off the Copa B73NG, which had winglets.

The next day was our travel day back to PHX, but we managed a few hours in
perfectly clear skies to photograph the following:
