* Goodyear report from Mike & Steve, http://www.visitingphx.com:
We made it out to GYR before the rain hit on Saturday morning (04Dec) to catch a couple of ex-Southeast MD82's. N374GE arrived from FLL and
N418GE arrived a few minutes later from PIE. Both were flying as
their reg, and were in a full Southeast c/s. AWE B732, N182AW was
parked on the TIMCO Ramp in full c/s. The ex-ACA B762, N526PH is
now in full Iraqi Airways c/s and was inside the hangar Saturday.
Another interesting aircraft at GYR, was the USAF NT-43A, '73-155'
that has the extensions on its nose and tail. '73-155' was inside
the small hangar this weekend. The only other new aircraft at GYR
was AAY MD83, N891GA which was inside the hangar. The ex-ACA A320,
N754US that was stripped last weekend and on the TIMCO Ramp was
missing and may be in the paint bay. Both ex-UAL B735's, N952UA and
N948UA were parked on the TIMCO Ramp this weekend along with ex-COA
MD80, N10834. Three aircraft were missing at GYR this weekend, ex-
DAL MD11, N810DE departed as flt# FDX9069 to LAX on 12/3. ex-WOA
DC10, N353WL has apparently gone to Omni Air, it departed 12/1 as
flt# OAE270 to TUL. ex-AWE B732, N180AW was missing this weekend
and may have departed to TUS since there was a flight track on 12/30
(flt# AWE9800) to TUS. Both Bellview B762's were outside on the
TIMCO Ramp this weekend and one was near the fence by the general
aviation hangars.

Williams-Gateway 11Dec:
Out at IWA, Spirit N817NK departed for DTW on Friday. N801NK was still there on Saturday, operating for the DOJ. N311FV arrived from MIA Saturday (a/w) and headed to the DOJ ramp. N945MA flew the RNO-IWA run for Allegiant on Friday. N806US departed as its reg to TUS on Saturday.

* Goodyear report from Mike & Steve, http://www.visitingphx.com:

Went to GYR on Saturday evening 11/6. There were plenty of bizjet
and bizprops around on the tarmac for NASCAR. DAL MD11, N801DE
arrived this week as flt# DAL9900 YMX-GYR on 11/2, and was parked in
the field wearing full colors and titles. WOA MD11 N278WA with
SonAir titles arrived as flt# WOA907 IAH-GYR on 11/5 and was parked
on the TIMCO Ramp Saturday. The Bellview B762 has now been moved
outside the hangar on the TIMCO Ramp and one side of the aircraft
has the reg. N806HE along with the nickname "Charity". This
Bellview was ex-VRG, PP-VNS. Even though there was still plastic
draped over the forward fuselage, we did manage to get a few proof
shots of it. We believe the other ex-VRG B762 PP-VNR which was on
the ramp last weekend is now in the paint bay. ex-ACA B762 N526PH
has now been moved inside the hangar, while Cielos Cargo DC10,
N305FE and WOA DC10, N353WL still appeared to inside as well. ex-
AWE B732, N180AW has now been moved to the TIMCO Ramp along with ex-
UAL B735, N944UA. All of the other UAL B735 aircraft have been
moved to the field. ex-UAL B772 N207UA was still in UAL c/s (n/t),
but re-reg'd PP-VRE this weekend, while N208UA has had its titles
and reg removed. COA B733, N14308 departed this week to IAH as flt#
COA 9970 on 11/3, while WOA DC10, N303WL departed this week as
well. ex-Dutch Caribbean MD80, PJ-SEH has now been moved to the
field. Other than those changes all of the other aircraft
previously noted at GYR still appeared to be present on Saturday.

* Pace Airlines B737-300 N373PA [23749], previously operated for Vacation Express, has since been repainted into a corporate c/s and was first noted at Phoenix on 26Oct-2004 as part of the Sportjet fleet.

* Goodyear report and update from Steve Cook, http://www.visitingphx.com:

There were a lot of interesting movements at GYR this weekend. We
made it out to GYR on Saturday evening 10/30. It appears that one of
the ex-Varig B762's is now painted as Bellview Airlines. It was
inside the hangar with plastic drapped over it, no reg was visible
yet. The other Varig B762 that was stripped last weekend is now
outside on the TIMCO Ramp, but most of the logos and its reg were
removed. It appears they may be painting this one soon too. ex-DAL
B732, N378DL was parked on the TIMCO Ramp with no titles after
arriving from ATL-PHX-GYR as flt# DAL9900 on 10/28. World DC10,
N303WL was parked in between the hangars on the TIMCO Ramp after
arriving from LAX-GYR as flt#WOA903 on Saturday. Another arrival to
the TIMCO Ramp Saturday was ex-ACA B762 (C-GAVA) now reg'd N526PH.
The ex-ACA had no titles and flew MHV-GYR using its N526PH reg for
its flight#. Cielos Cargo DC10, N305FE was inside the hangar as well
this weekend. ex-Spanair (EC-FXI) MD83 was parked on the TIMCO
Ramp. The ex-Spanair is now reg'd N320FV and was a/w after arriving
YYR-TUS-(GYR) on Saturday flying as its reg. WOA DC10, N353WL was
moved inside the hangar this weekend and painted a/w now. ex-UAL
B772, N207UA which was still parked at TIMCO, now has it's titles,
logos, and reg removed. UAL B772, N208UA is still in full UAL c/s on
the TIMCO Ramp though. ex-UAL B735, N943UA departed to LCQ on
Saturday morning as flt# UAL9925. Also missing was AAY MD83 N860GA
which returned to service earlier this week. One aircraft that we
missed counting lately was ex-ASA MD80, N932AS which apparently snuck
out to LCQ on 7/16/04 flying as its reg#.
We made another run out to GYR on Sunday afternoon 10/31 to catch
ex-ATA B752, N512TZ which flew in from IND-GYR as its reg#. N512TZ
was in full ATA c/s and arrived to the TIMCO Ramp.
All other aircraft previously noted, still appeared to present on
Saturday and Sunday.

Victorville Update

The majority of stored aircraft at VCV have been moved to a new, custom-built storage area at the northeast corner of the airfield, well out of spotting range of the main ramp. There are ways to access this new area via dirt roads around the north end of the airport, but these have not been explored by Cactus Wings as of yet.

There are still several planes on the main ramp as of this writing, clustered very tightly together.

* Goodyear updates from Steve Cook, http://www.visitingphx.com:
GYR on Sunday 8/15: There were 3 new aircraft to GYR: AWE B732 N178AW which was parked on the TIMCO Ramp with n/t, also BOE MD11 N278UP was on the TIMCO Ramp painted a/w, and WOA MD11 N273WA was in between the hangars at TIMCO. Both COA MD80 N35836 and USPS B727 N421EX have been moved to the TIMCO Ramp this weekend, while VRG MD11 N501FR (PP-VPP); UAL B722 N7272U; and 3 COA MD80's N10834, N35832, N18835 have all been moved to the field now. USPS B722 N314NE was in the scrapping area previously and is now presumed scrapped since it was missing this weekend. AWE B732 N149AW has been moved to the scrapping area, still wearing its full c/s and appears to be on pallets now. Other aircraft still parked at TIMCO include: UAL B772 N770UA, BOE A310 N229BA, BOE B744 N223BA, GRO MD80 XA-TUP, VRG MD11 N499HE, and VRG MD11 N485LS. USPS B722 N315NE departed on Saturday 8/14 as its reg via GYR-TUS-OPF. Cielos Cargo DC10 N322FE and WOA DC10 N303WL were also missing on Sunday. We were able to verify the reg's on all of the USPS 727's this weekend and all were present with the exception of one's previously mentioned as scrapped or departed. Another note is that both AWE B732's N180AW and N188AW now have their titles painted out. Other than those changes, all of the other aircraft still appeared to be present at GYR on Sunday.

GYR on Saturday 8/21: The FFT B733 flight planned on Saturday morning, apparently dropped off the system. Only a couple new aircraft to note at GYR, a WOA MD11, N277WA which just arrived Saturday evening from LAX and the most interesting note ex-AAL B752 N719TW is now in full Uzbekistan c/s parked on the TIMCO Ramp. AWE B732, N149AW now appears to be scrapped this weekend and N421EX has been moved to the scrapping area at TIMCO. WOA MD11, N273WA departed earlier this week, so this aircraft is no longer at GYR.
Other aircraft on the TIMCO Ramp:
N136CV Fly Air B752 -moved from field
N241CV Fly Air B752 -moved from field
JA8156 ANA B742 -moved from field
N121NJ VGD B732 -moved from field

N178AW AWE B732
N485LS VRG MD11
N278UP BOE MD11
N223BA BOE B744
N229BA BOE A310
Both VRG B762's still appear to be inside the hangar. The GRO MD80, XA-TUP has been moved to the field along with VRG MD11, N499HE. Other than those changes, all of the other aircraft previously reported still appeared to be present at GYR on Saturday.

Cactus Wings Aircraft Report & NBAA News
07May-2004

News & announcements
==========

NBAA Travelers:
Cactus Wings Annual Aviation Photographer's BBQ and "Slidetoberfest"
October 8/9, 2004
========================
For those of you visiting the Southwest USA during this year's NBAA in Las Vegas, Cactus Wings will be welcoming all of you to this year's Aviation Photographer's BBQ and "Slidetoberfest". It's our annual gathering of aviation enthusiasts for a day of slide trading, followed by an evening of dinner, drinks, and slide presentations.

This year we have planned a day tour on Friday 8th October to visit storage airfields, scrapyards, and airports in Southern Arizona. Transportation will be provided for those interested, and group access is being arranged to as many sites as possible. Seats will be somewhat limited so if you are interested in joining in on this guided tour, please let me know.

Saturday 9th October will feature an open house of slide trading & selling, along with aviation prints and other memorabilia. The Cactus Wings stored aircraft lists and other data will be available for free. Gather and chat with fellow enthusiasts. A BBQ dinner will be served and we'll congregate afterwards to view slides from several presenters.

The Copperstate Regional Fly-in is planned to be held during that weekend in October, another reason to be in the Phoenix area. Website for that is: http://www.copperstate.org/index.htm. Cactus Wings will be attending several events and will be glad to provide information and assistance to any visitors regarding the event.

So, plan on being in the Phoenix area on the weekend before the NBAA and join us & fellow enthusiasts, photographers, and spotters for the 2004 Cactus Wings Slidetoberfest.

One spotting annoucement, there is a Presidential Debate scheduled in Tempe (Phoenix) on Wednesday, 13th October 2004. Not sure what aircraft attend these events but it's worth a mention just in case.

* Delta B767-200 N102DA [22214], was noted at Phoenix on 05May-2004 wearing the new '75th Anniversary/Spirit of Delta' color scheme. Photo at:

Las Vegas Apr06-2004

Douglas DC-10-30 47837 N1855U has been reduced to a pile of aluminium, so Apr06-2004 will be the official B/U date.

The two Fokker 100 US Airways are still parked in front of Signature Hanga, still there today Apr10-2004 .

Leaving "only" EMB-120 N199SW in the storage area at Las Vegas! The lowest I ever have seen since 1966!
